Here is information on how you can let us know if you see need for improvement, if you are dissatisfied or pleased with something at FIUC.

There are two channels for speaking up at FIUC:

  1. Notification of censurable conditions: Unethical, illegal, dangerous and damaging conditions or actions, for instance bullying, harassment, breach of trust or unethical behaviour are examples of what may be reported here.
  2. Other feedback: Positive and negative feedback, suggestions of improvement or notice of conditions you are not pleased with are examples of what may be submitted here.

In case of emergency, please contact emergency services (110) and give notice to Rector.

Notification of censurable conditions

Here you can give notice to FIUC. Students and staff on all campuses may use the following form. Read more about notification of censurable conditions in our procedures for notification of censurable conditions.

The notification will be treated in line with internal guidelines (in Norwegian - translation pending).

How to notify?

You may notify in written form or verbally. Verbal notifications are made over phone or directly to one of the persons listed in the internal guidelines. Written notifications are made by mail or e-mail. Notifications may be made anonymously, but notifiers are encouraged to reveal their identity so that FIUC may investigate the case as thoroughly as possible. This in turn ensures the best results possible. Anonymous notifications may be sent by regular mail, please write the name of your intended recipient on the outside. You may also use this form (enter this code: 7DDZ-LA2J-SJ15). The notification will go to Rector.

What should the notification contain?

  • Name of the notifier (may also be anonymous)
  • Workplace/place of study
  • Date for the notification
  • Time of the incident or observation (any relevant date or hour)
  • Concrete description of the incident/observation
  • Place of the incident/observation
  • Witnesses
  • Knowledge of previous cases involving the person(s) in question.

If you need support when submitting a notification:

As a student you may contact the Ombud for Students for support, either in preparation for or through the process of submitting a notification. Staff may contact the safety representative or a representative of their union.

Reports of sexual harassment:

Some relationships are asymmetrical, meaning that one person has more power than the other. Sexual harassment means that the person with the most power gives the other person unwanted attention of a sexual nature, violating the other person's boundaries of intimacy. (See definition in Retningslinjer for håndtering av seksuelle krenkelser (in Norwegian).)

Fjellhaug International University College (FIUC) wishes to create and maintain a good study and working environment. FIUC will therefore respond to boundary-violating behaviour and conduct attitudinal work to promote a good study and working environment.

If you wish to make a notification about possible sexual harassment, contact one of the contact persons. Names and contact information are available in Student Information in Canvas, at the bottom of the page Forebygging av seksuelle krenkelser. You may also use regular procedures for notification of censurable conditions.

Reports of bullying, harassment and similar incidents:

If you experience bullying, harassment or conflict, you can contact a member of the Student Council or a safety representative. You may also contact the Student Counsellor or Deacon.

Other feedback

The learning environment encompasses physical, psychosocial, organisatory, pedagogical and technological aspects of student life. FIUC has both a responsibility and a desire to maintain a safe and sound learning environment. Feedback from students is of immeasurable value in this.

You may use the feedback scheme (use the code 3H3K-KDFP-J195) to provide any feedback to FIUC, whether it is pointing out deficiencies or indicating what you appreciate.

The Learning Environment Committee may also be contacted if you are concerned about the learning environment. In accordance with the Act relating to Universities and University Colleges Chapter four, section 3, subsection 3, it will also be informed if FIUC receives complaints on the learning environment through other channels.
